Sheriff Raymond McMenamin was in private practice for over 30 years, the last 20 as senior partner in a West Lothian firm. He trained in the Crown Office and was a procurator fiscal depute in Linlithgow and Glasgow before going into private practice. He gained rights of audience in the High Court in 2000 and is accredited as a senior solicitor advocate. Appointed as a Part Time Sheriff in 2007, he was President of the Part Time Sheriffs’ Association from 2013 to 2016. He also sits as a Shrieval Convener for the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland and was recently appointed as a Legal Board Member of the Scottish Criminal Case Review Commission.
